Solar World

I've been researching solar panels for the house over the past few weeks and from all I've been reading, a solar array to power the whole house would cost about $100K to install and 22 years to break even.

The currrent cost of solar arrays are about $9/watt.

Then I started to ponder...

What's going to happen when the price drops to $1/watt, and the cost to install a solar system falls under $5K and every house is powered 120% by solar? Will we still power plants? Will all the power companies disappear? Will the extra power generated from solar homes replace nuclear plants, and other power generating systems? Will cars will be powered by the extra energy generated by your home. No oil, no power companies???

Now if we can find a way to generate food, i can live free...

powerFULL!
